ABOUT THE OWNER...
Kat is a mom, small business owner, U.S. Navy veteran, and Texas native. After being discharged from the Navy, she remained in Virginia, where she pursued her career in Speech and Language Pathology. Kat received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication of Sciences and Disorders from Old Dominion University.
Kat's sincere passion to help young children and adolescents motivated her to continue to pursue additional trainings for finding solutions for various speech disorders beyond the traditional therapy approach, using various evidence based approaches for targeting delays in speech and language.
Kat is a former Registered Behavioral Therapist (ABA), who worked with children on the Autism Spectrum. Kat is also licensed as an Early Intervention Therapist, helping young babies and young children, from birth to age 3, who have trouble communicating, learn essential communication skills for interacting with peers and caregivers across a variety of settings. Kat has worked in home health and outpatient settings with children of various ages and with various diagnoses, to include, but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down's Syndrome, Stuttering/ Fluency disorders, speech delay, hearing impaired, Childhood Apraxia, tongue tie, receptive/ expressive language disorder, and articulation disorder.
